Mac System Up Time

See when your Mac last rebooted or how long it’s been running for with these two commands.

To launch terminal on a Mac, press command ⌘ and space, in the pop up window type ‘terminal’

Uptime

Running the command ‘uptime’ will give you the following information:-

  • The Current Time

  • How long the device/system has been running for

  • How many users are currently logged on

  • System load averages*, for the past 1, 5, and 15 minutes.

*System load averages, the number of processes that are currently in a runnable state or a process which is uninteruprible. A process which is in a runnable state is currently using CPU power or waiting to use available CPU power.

Last reboot
