Apple Music Available On Google Assistant Speakers

Google has announced Apple’s music streaming service ‘Apple Music’ will be available on its Google Assistant enabled speakers from today.

Previously iOS and Apple Music users could only stream via Bluetooth to the speakers or by using a 3rd party app such as AirFoil

In your Home app, you can select the service, instead of Spotify, Deezer or YouTube music. Rollout starts on Monday in US, UK, France, Germany and Japan.

Update : 10 December 2020

Its taken a few days to roll out, but the feature is now showing as available to link the music streaming service to your Google Speakers, direct casting from the Apple Music app via AirPlay is still not available on iOS devices.

To keep things safe and secure i’ve set up another iCloud account and associated this to our family sharing allowing the ‘house’ to use Apple Music, without hearing other peoples playlists, and keeping personal iCloud accounts away from googles services.
